A Pair of Detentions Following London Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
The assault resulted in the partial shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the T3 parking area.

An additional two individuals are now in custody related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the injured in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Officers detained a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Police were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several people hurt by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that police said was isolated and not considered terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
