'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Galbraith renews battle with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith can't help but smile as he recalls the nail-biting final moments of his team's stunning fightback win against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup. The encounter wrapped up with Galbraith temporarily wearing a supporter's spectacles after the post-goal scrum.

As the match entered added time, Galbraith struck the post with a long-range shot from distance, and his teammate immediately hammered in the rebound before racing off toward the East Stand to mark the goal, with the crowd swarming the players.

Stunning Reversal

The result sealed an unbelievable recovery given the team had been behind 2-0 midway through the latter period. Amid the euphoria, there was some minor mishaps. He shared, "There was a fan sort of calling out and we were thinking: 'What's he on about here?' Then we saw the glasses. It was a light-hearted moment putting them on. We are on the pitch as footballers but we're people, too, so to have a laugh with the fans is always good."

Manchester City Challenge

The victory booked a upcoming game at home against Pep Guardiola's side on Wednesday, a team Galbraith ran close at the same stage of the FA Cup with the London side in February. He had an excellent perspective when his former team took the lead in spectacular fashion, with the attacker's first-time shot from about long distance going in via the woodwork and the City goalkeeper. It feels criminal that it was deemed an own goal.

"You would have hoped they would've credited him for attempting the shot from that distance," stated Galbraith, who played in the middle before switching to right flank after they changed formation. That meant facing off against City's winger, with whom he exchanged jerseys, and the attacker was among the Manchester squad who complimented the way Orient attacked the game.

City's Quality

"Physically they are exceptional but even the basics and basic skills, they can just perform consistently," the midfielder notes. "It feels like they complete every delivery and they understand how to control and slow down a game. You can feel you're doing well and then abruptly they will just deliver a through ball past your midfield without you even seeing. You have to be alert every second of the game. It demands a tough attitude and focus just to stay in the game."

Welsh Transition

Swansea were keen on Galbraith in January and beat off competition to bring him in in the summer in a significant move. He made a name as a crowd pleaser across a couple of years at Orient and has swiftly replicated that in south Wales. At Orient he linked up again with Richie Wellens, who previously gave Galbraith his first extended run in professional games on loan at Doncaster from Old Trafford. Then came a temporary move at lower division Salford City, before he permanently left his boyhood club.

Growth Journey

"I was likely a somewhat inexperienced going into men's football. I think a lot of players would say under-23s football is very different. Sometimes it seems the ball is moved without real physicality. You see few physical contests. Once you start playing professional matches you have to adjust fast."

International Recognition

He has demonstrated that maturation for club and country, excelling for his national side, who are fighting to qualify for the World Cup next summer via the qualifying rounds and for whom he has been selected in the last several matches, including two matches encounters against Germany. Ian Baraclough, Galbraith's previous international manager, gave him the highest praise, saying he was Northern Ireland's "midfield general" given how he manipulates the ball and his knack for a game-changing assist.

Starting Out

This represents an incredible journey for the youngster from the neighborhood in his hometown, just outside Belfast, who grew up watching his father, the elder Galbraith, also a central player, play for a local club.

Red Devils Debut

The player's only game for United came in Kazakhstan in 2019, a European competition trip to the host city, where they competed on an artificial pitch and the stadium roof was closed owing to conditions of freezing cold. "This represented a extended travel and it was freezing," he comments, smiling. "The week before, the academy prospects practiced as a group, so that assisted our preparation. Just to travel with the first team and earn some playing time at the end was amazing."

Departing Old Trafford

How difficult was it to leave United, the club he signed from his boyhood team aged his mid-teens? "The decision proved relatively straightforward, because I arrived at the moment where I understood I couldn't establish myself at first-team level. I'm hugely grateful for the years at the club but it reached a stage where I felt I needed to go my own route, join a smaller club and play men's football. Now I'm steadily progressing again."

New Environment

It is the middle of the day at Swansea's Fairwood training base but Galbraith has somewhere to be at the early evening: a road rules assessment, another move in the direction of getting on the road. Prior to relocating to the local area, the mid-twenties player was a regular in Swansea's so-called player transport, a team vehicle driven by club employees, the drivers, which shuttles players to and from practice and games.

"My companions include Gonçalo Franco, Ronald, an Ivorian player – the Swedish defender used to be in it but has begun using his own car. It's enjoyable to interact with the teammates but I'm aiming to be the next one to drive independently and behind the wheel. Franco likes to pull a few pranks; he's frequently playing tricks."

Public Engagement

When he represented Leyton Orient, Galbraith would blend in with fans on London's Central line after beginning his trip at the area he lived in. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
